thanks it's just i'm 13 and my parnets wont let me get things off of the sims2.com and my stepdad even got an secret username and password.

You pay for the game, but CC (custom content) should always be free. If you find a site that charges or wants you to subscribe turn and run!! Some sites you need to register to download.

If you only have the base game make sure what you download is for the base game.
If you get a new hairstyle,  you  need to download both the hair and the mesh for it.
