Sims 3 custom content downloads different than Sims 2  Extract to 2 clicks on programs/ 2 clicks on documents/ 2 clicks on Electronic Arts (not EA games)/ 2 clicks on The Sims 3/ 2 clicks on Mods (not downloads, putting them in the downloads folder will BORK your game)/ make a new folder in Mods & name it packages then 2 clicks on packages That is where your custom content for Sims 3 goes. You delete CC from the EA Downloads manager but it does not always let you (EA's normal programs that don't work!) if you can't delete from there then go to your packages folder and delete the file from there. I hope this helps!

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Unfortunately i've got a problem figuring out the system of deleting and installing or even knowing what to do to add things, it's all too confusing for me when there are too many choices and abriviations with the links and where to put things.
Very game ilitirerat , got a problem with spelling at the mo too. lol

Sorry, that's World Adventures, the first sims 3 EP. There is another one but the name eludes me at the moment.
I may have to try that olive leaf extract. I simply hate antibiotics, and will need to get extremely ill before I will go to the Dr. It always seems whatever they give me does not work and only messes up my system.

Sorry SuSim, um , whats WA please?
hope you are feeling better. Try taking Olive lef extract, it worked for me..I picked up a bad bug in Hong Kong on our way back home to NZ, right when that BIG flu scare was on and people were wearing masks, getting through the airport anywhere, I had to try to not look sick. Cowered in the back of the plane with a throbbing migraine.
6 weeks off work and still not feeling great and was given the bottle of olive leaf oil. Worked a treat, where anitbiotics did'nt move a thing.
Cheers

Hi Ruby! I may not say much, but I still try to read all the posts.
Game copy world is where I get my no cds. You do want to get the one for the latest EP you have.
http://m0008.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_the_sims_3.shtml

So if you have WA scroll down and click on that link.

EA/Maxis tried so hard to screw the pirates, they ended up screwing themselves. Their detection system is fail and often thinks games are not legal, or suddenly are not legal.
What a way to treat a paying customer! The pirates don't have these problems....

Happy New Year to you too, and i hope this helps!

Hi Susim, happy new year..maybe late but I have'nt seen or heard from you in ages.
Thank you all for your support and yes I will try the no cd, where do I get the "crack"? please
The retail store provided me with another CD which was so nice of them, as they would'nt usually do that. They will take it up with EAxis to get a new code for the returned one as they think because there was no problem with it earlier on , there may have been a glitch where some one has pirated the code???????????
I'm not very clever with what all this means and I think they were aware of that, lol
I would love to be able to play it without the Cd as it's my partners computer.

Ruby, first of all try some other game and make sure it isn't your disc drive. It probably isn't.
I think this is just another of the many problems of sims 3. I know at least one of their patches was bad too.
Probably the easiest solution would be to get a no cd crack so you can play your game without the disc.

Sims 3 is played from the expansion packs unlike Sims 2! You could try http://support.ea.com or by telephone: US 1 (605) 628-1001 Hope your problems are resolved quickly!

Thanks Owlsy,
I have tried starting from the base game and the extension "Adventures" but neither works , so will give the other suggestions a go. I tried cleaning the disc and that worked a few times ,it dose'nt load after that now either.
The retailer I buy from gives 7 days to test the games, (they know the Maxis  EA problems now I think they said)
which is excellent service.
I've gone over that time now though, so will try the delete suggestion.
I have registered, so will also try the buggy patchy, lol
Thank you for being here Owlsy

Ruby,

Even if it never played, retailers won't take back computer games if they have been opened, so that was a stupid message for the makers to include.

I don't have Sims3 so i can only make suggestions.

If it is a stuff pack, you'll need the base game or latest EP to play... the game shouldn't play from the SP.  If you have been trying to play from the SP, put the game cd in and see if that works.

Try taking out your downloads folder and seeing if it works then.

Try registering at Eaxis with your new Sims3 game and see if they have any patches.  Since they release buggy games as a matter of course, they might have one for your problem.

Try deleting the SP - should be able to from Control Panel/Add Remove Programs or the equivalent in your operating system.  Stuff packs shouldn't bloody well need verification, since they're just groups of objects.  So... Eaxis is releasing SPs for Sims3? AND selling online per-item? Covering their bases aren't they?

Work thru these, and i hope one works.

Happy Simming

Hi Owlsy,
I was going to try the cheats from the google you mentioned, but my game won't load anymore.
The message is that it can't recognised as  verified , it's  the new stuff pack. It's played a couple of times, but now refuses to.
Is there a way that I can get it sorted.
It says to take it back to the retailer I got it from, but they don't know what the problem is.
Cheers

Ruby,

I answered your email twice, because some people just skip the OT ones.

Sims 3... my older daughter's boyfriend bought me that, what a lovely surprise.  It doesn't work on the systems i have, so i'm waiting till i get a new puter to try it out.

My younger daughter has it, and loves it.  I don't think i'm going to like whole neighbourhoods aging in time with my Simmies, but since i play with aging off that probably won't affect me.  And seriously, if that cheat doesn't work, i won't want to play it!  The only deaths i accept are accidental, or if *i* (just call me God) want to kill one of 'em!

If none of your cheats work, google Sims3 cheats, they might be different to Sims2 ones... MTS might have articles on it too.

My daughter tried to explain that you can only play one created family per neighbourhood, something like that... i think there is more to it, but that's the sense i got, and i don't like the sound of it.  Is that what you mean about your families not connecting?

As for buying *per item* from Eaxis, what a ripoff!  They just want to cash in on the whole paysite phenomena.   The main reason i buy stuffpacks (Sims2) is because i know some talented creator is going to use that stuff to make items i actually want!  Furthermore with user-created items i can change the price, the want values and even catalogue placement. (Thank you talented proggy creators!). I say main, coz they DO have a few items i use a lot in gameplay, and i do love the item descriptions, very funny!  So if anyone from Eaxis is reading this, stop that *per item* crap and go back to stuffpacks!

I like how you can recolour items ingame with Sims3, that sounds great.
