Ruby, Wow that is an excellent attitude from your retailers, i'd stick with THEM! It sounds like there is something wrong with the disc, since cleaning worked for a while. It may be that none of the options will work, and the disc somehow got corrupted. Eaxis USED to have a policy where they replaced such discs for a much lower price, but i don't know if they still do that, or if its worth the hassle. (Notice they never replaced them for free!) I am happy to be here, and do hope you work it out! Huggsss Owlsy

Thanks Owlsy, I have tried starting from the base game and the extension "Adventures" but neither works , so will give the other suggestions a go. I tried cleaning the disc and that worked a few times ,it dose'nt load after that now either. The retailer I buy from gives 7 days to test the games, (they know the Maxis EA problems now I think they said) which is excellent service. I've gone over that time now though, so will try the delete suggestion. I have registered, so will also try the buggy patchy, lol Thank you for being here Owlsy cheers -------Original Message------- Date: 24/02/2010 7:35:20 AM Subject: Re: objects_for_Sims2 Sims 3 Ruby, Even if it never played, retailers won't take back computer games if they have been opened, so that was a stupid message for the makers to include. I don't have Sims3 so i can only make suggestions. If it is a stuff pack, you'll need the base game or latest EP to play... the game shouldn't play from the SP. If you have been trying to play from the SP, put the game cd in and see if that works. Try taking out your downloads folder and seeing if it works then. Try registering at Eaxis with your new Sims3 game and see if they have any patches. Since they release buggy games as a matter of course, they might have one for your problem. Try deleting the SP - should be able to from Control Panel/Add Remove Programs or the equivalent in your operating system. Stuff packs shouldn't bloody well need verification, since they're just groups of objects. So... Eaxis is releasing SPs for Sims3? AND selling online per-item? Covering their bases aren't they? Work thru these, and i hope one works. Happy Simming Owlsy

The message is that it can't recognised as verified , it's the new stuff pack. It's played a couple of times, but now refuses to. Is there a way that I can get it sorted. It says to take it back to the retailer I got it from, but they don't know what the problem is. Cheers -------Original Message------- Ruby, I answered your email twice, because some people just skip the OT ones. Sims 3... my older daughter's boyfriend bought me that, what a lovely surprise. It doesn't work on the systems i have, so i'm waiting till i get a new puter to try it out. My younger daughter has it, and loves it. I don't think i'm going to like whole neighbourhoods aging in time with my Simmies, but since i play with aging off that probably won't affect me. And seriously, if that cheat doesn't work, i won't want to play it! The only deaths i accept are accidental, or if *i* (just call me God) want to kill one of 'em! If none of your cheats work, google Sims3 cheats, they might be different to Sims2 ones... MTS might have articles on it too. My daughter tried to explain that you can only play one created family per neighbourhood, something like that... i think there is more to it, but that's the sense i got, and i don't like the sound of it. Is that what you mean about your families not connecting? As for buying *per item* from Eaxis, what a ripoff! They just want to cash in on the whole paysite phenomena. The main reason i buy stuffpacks (Sims2) is because i know some talented creator is going to use that stuff to make items i actually want! Furthermore with user-created items i can change the price, the want values and even catalogue placement. (Thank you talented proggy creators!). I say main, coz they DO have a few items i use a lot in gameplay, and i do love the item descriptions, very funny! So if anyone from Eaxis is reading this, stop that *per item* crap and go back to stuffpacks! I like how you can recolour items ingame with Sims3, that sounds great. Owlsy Save the Earth!!! ....
