Ruby, STOLEN????? STOLEN!!!!!! I don't hope they are enjoying the game, i hope every one of their Simmies dies of fly cloud, or some weird pet disease, or gets struck by lightening till they disintegrate! I hope their houses burn down every time they light a fire! And since they can't get struck by lightening in Sims1, i hope it happens ANYWAY!!!!! There, now i feel better! I don't like stealing... can ya tell? *grins* Game and object mods i find useful when playing large families: Merola's Multi-purpose painting: Monique's hacked computer that allows home shopping and badge-building among heaps of other things; AND her teleport anywhere on the lot hack: I wasn't logged into MTS, so that is a list of her downloads... go to page 4, they are the last 2 on the page, and you'll have to be logged in to d/l. You need to register, and it is free. Inteenimater, which has heaps of functions but the one i mainly use is the biological clock (available for any Sim). Click on the active Sim, hunt around the radial menu, you'll find My Biological Clock. Click on that and a little alarm clock appears on the lot near them. You then need to click on their clock to change their options. Among its options is temporary infertility, so they get a Safe Woohoo option when trying to woohoo other Sims: Scroll down this page to the Inteenimater section, and READ the Inteen User to User Support Section. There is an article: What is Inteen, What are its features, What, What, What... by Sleepycat which will show you if this mod is for you. Also on the simbology site, mod for multiple births by twojeffs. You can read about the triplets and quads mod in Mod Descriptions; and get it in Apartment Life Downloads, or sort thru Previous Expansion Downloads for your latest expansion and see if it is available there. Simbology Baby/Toddler Related mods: you have to register for d/l, but it's free. I use the self-exploding bottles and toddler potty fixes. I use InSIMinator, available at: HOWEVER, this is now unsupported and THEY recommend The Sim Blender by twojeffs available at Simbology: I don't have it, never used it, would love to hear from someone who has! I have hacks for aging, and now typing aging on doesn't seem to work for me, lolz.. Don't really need it coz i have a cake that allows aging up at any time, i got the ijHeirloomCakePets: Hacks i can't find online and can't remember where i gottem (please let us know if you DO know) With big families it is a real pain to keep maintaining relationships, so i got a mod that stops relationship decay... they still build and Sims have to put time into that, just don't go down. Stop and go to school/work (interrupts activities when the bus/car arrives and the Sim will stop and go - unless they get delayed somewhere, like lots of people using a staircase, and the go to work/school interaction may drop out of their queue). This mod stops them reading or skill building, and then they will start to leave the house... it doesn't guarantee they will get to the bus or car. Forced greet (one of your Sims will get a Greet option added to their queue when a visitor knocks) - problems with that one... they will treat the delivery person as a visitor, have to cancel the Greet option and change it to Accept Delivery; and they won't Greet All, again have to cancel and change to Greet All, or they will only greet the one that knocks. Have you ever played the Ottomas (Ottoman?) family? can't remember the name... you know, Grandmother, Mum (pregnant), Dad, teen boy, and girl. I've played them several times from scratch. One time i moved Grandmum and teen boy out straight away, i used InSIMinator to make her an adult again when he eventually went off to college. If you change an elder to an adult, MAKE SURE they are not receiving a pension at the time! (The game REALLY doesn't like that!) Meanwhile Mum had quads. They all went to college eventually and my neighbourhood was filled with the one family! I also got a mod object that pauses college, so they can take a break from classes and skill build, catch up on assignments, do their term paper, build up social relationships, whatever you want them to really. I thought i got that from MTS, but can't find it there (doesn't mean it's not there, lolz)... if you have it, and can remember where you got it, please let us know. If i play large families i always give them heaps of money - move into a small section, Ctrl+Shift+C, type motherlode in the box 5 or 6 times, save, quit to neighbourhood, move them out then either buy them a mansion or build one. (Who am i kidding??? ALLLLLLL my Sims are well off). With huge families i find it better to build, the created houses don't have enough staircases and the passageways are too narrow, which means the kids get stuck and miss the school bus. I build staircases in pairs, and have at least 2 groups of 2 staircases on each level. It annoys me that you can have eight in a family but only 6 meal portions. I get around that by having some adult with high cooking make meals that just get stored in the fridge (have to have Seasons for that). Since kids can get leftovers, they can access those. Kids are messy! This limits the type of shower/bath you can use throughout your house if you don't want puddles in your bathrooms. SO i used Merola's Multipurpose Painting to change their neatness. I change each child's DNA and Personality to one off maximum neatness. Of course you could always just hire a maid. And another thing about large families... the kids will bring friends home... i'm too busy getting them all to do homework and feed them and meet their needs... no time to oversee any other interactions! So of course all these other adults show up to get their kids coz i don't send them home, lolz. That works out well if your adult Sims have any time to meet them, coz once they have met them they can build the relationship by phone. I wish you could get multiple phone lines into a house for those large families. If people in my large family are not getting their wants met and their indicator goes way down, i use Merola's Painting to adjust their aspiration level, to adjust any of their needs or all of them, and to adjust the individual or all on the lot. An excellent thing about Merola's Painting is that the changes take place immediately and don't interrupt gameplay... some objects need the Sim to view them before changes happen. Merola's Painting can also put kids straight into private school BUT if a parent Sim has the want "get child into private school", using the Painting to do this will NOT meet that want. I find it really difficult to get a high score with the Headmaster with a large family, so its a lot easier to just use the painting.
I'm on a slower computer now than when i played big or even huge families. But i'll still give it a go and see *grins*. If anyone has played large families, please share your experiences with us. And any game or object mods you found useful. Happy Simming! Owlsy
Save the Earth!!! .... It's the only planet with CHOCOLATE - OK, OK, "and" NEW ZEALAND *grins*

I don't like the dying off bit as well and finally managed to get it to turn off. I will try those areas you mentioned for the cheats. In sims 2, I created a family of 14 kids ie, several sets of twins , sent them off to college while I went back and stayed with the family till the next lot grew up up, since then i've had a big break from the game, and now and again go back to it. The college ones still meet up with the other family members when I take them shopping or to the restaurant, Sims3 dosent have those options and I bore easy. Back to Sims2 My Sims1 were stolen......I have no idea by who, but I hope they are enjoying them. Cheers | |
