When you reinstalled did you do a "clean" reinstall?

It does sound like Securom. There is a new an easier way to remove Securom.

But the best way is not to infect yourself.
After you get rid of it, install and patch all your EP's & SP's, but don't load the game from the exe., get a no-cd crack and play from that!!
