The compost takes a while to... cycle through?  You can also use fertilizer on plots, 10S per bag.   I think its something like 10-15 sprays and you turn into a plantSim.  They only have a few needs, sunlight, love and water.  You'll need the lights from the gardening section then for the hours of darkness (they don't sleep).  I nearly killed mine coz i couldn't work out how to give her sunlight thru the night.  I felt so GUILTY!!!!
